When does "help in a time of dire need" ever get delivered? Can you actually see the result? Do you send ten pounds? Twenty? You might send a hundred, and they're still frozen to death. When the outcome is uncertain, few people are willing to make a move. On the flip side, why does everyone jump at "icing on the cake"? Because it's guaranteed to work.

Of all things, certainty is the most expensive.

So what do you do when you're at zero — in your poorest, most desperate moment, when you truly need help? Don't beg. It's useless; it's just wasted time. You have to walk through your hardest times alone. You absolutely cannot let people see you as worthless, leaning solely on handouts. It won't work.

This world offers no help to you. Everyone just wants to take advantage of you. You've got to build real strength.
