The First Step to Gaining Market Share is Getting People to Listen
The vast majority of people don't care what you wrote. They only care about one thing: are you on their side?
For example, when you sense that people's mood is "I'm broke, and I don't want to see others spending money either." Then you say, "To curb excessive consumption, we need to stop wealthy people from spending so lavishly—make them pay the consequences whenever they splash their cash." Say exactly that, and everyone will nod and approve. They'll think you're a good person because you're clearly standing with them. Whether the rich end up spending elsewhere, or not spending at all—which then causes layoffs and people losing their jobs? Don't even mention that layer. People won't read past it, won't understand it anyway, and will just suspect your loyalty and accuse you of turning against them. And when folks start complaining about being out of work? Fine. Write that they need accessible jobs—ones that pay well and carry low stress. Whether that's possible, whether it contradicts anything? Don't write it. You'll just get accused of taking sides and make enemies of everyone.
All you need is a position, not substance, to please the majority. Don't think. Don't offer content. A stance alone is enough. They only want to know: are you for them or against them? That's it. Just support them. Cut the crap.
