A guru can treat a temporary sickness, but they can't cure your destiny for life.

A guru's guidance depends on the person. Their plan relies on the person too. Change the person and it won't work. The first thing a guru considers is whether they truly understand you. Even if they do, you still need to actually listen.

People rarely hear things completely. We only filter in the parts we love to hear and become selectively deaf to the rest.

We were all students in the same class under the same teacher. Zhang Hua got into Peking University. Li Ping went to a vocational school. I worked as a salesperson at a department store. We all had bright futures ahead of us.
