Standing Out Through Character Alone
You love to argue and win every debate, but in reality, you truly win by going along with others. When someone says something, look at them with deep respect, tilting your head up at a 45-degree angle—that leaves a great impression. They get their ego fed, and in return, you get help.
A person who, even at moments when they’ve fully utilized everyone else’s support, still thinks about others’ interests—will stand out simply by being a good person.
The difference between faking it and actually having it.
Faking it means always believing there’s a shortcut for life’s complicated matters. “I’ll just throw money at it and see if people submit.” You’re chasing prestige—others may表面上 comply, but the real cost is drained from your own resources.
Actually having it means no matter how harmless, gentle, or humble you appear to outsiders, every bite you take is substantial, every step you walk counts, and you’re genuinely snowballing—getting bigger and stronger with each move.
The essence of Buddhism is bowing to everyone—you bow to any person, any ant, any cat or dog. If you treat all beings as Buddha, you become Buddha. But if you only worship that one statue? Sorry, you’re just a pilgrim.
Only the profit in your hand is real.
