Urban greening has not kept pace with expectations, meaning severe convective storms will likely become more common. Without sufficient plant cover, cities experience rapid temperature swings—unlike surrounding vegetated areas, where temperature changes occur more gradually. These sharp temperature differences drive intense convective weather. Since global warming is now an irreversible trend, relocating slightly northward and inland is a consideration worth taking seriously.
