What is the Noble Consort thinking?
Many of us always hope to meet a benefactor, find a boss who appreciates us; or we always wish to marry a rich man. But we rarely stop to think—what would that boss, or that person holding resources, be worried about? What makes them hesitate?
At the most basic level, positions are about logic; the closer you are to the grassroots, the more ability matters.
The higher you go, the more it’s about people. Executing tasks and managing resources are two different things. Being smart and capable is a quality of lower-level managers—think about that.
People who hold resources collectively don’t like you. How will you hold anything then?
Most people’s success is simply, in a sense, a matter of being likable. If there’s business, they want to support you—for no other reason than they find you reliable. The higher up you go, the fewer hard requirements and the more soft requirements there are.

But if you’re likable, isn’t it easier for you to succeed on a larger scale?
