Wherever there are people, there is a world. The boardroom is filled with many forces, each requiring a spokesperson, and in the end it comes down to the art of balance, the art of compromise, the art of respecting human nature and interests. Not even the chairman is exempt— he cannot simply do whatever he wants. Most of what he does is merely finding a reason for his own existence, just like executives busy picking sides, or employees busy dodging layoffs.
