Lacking ability and ambition is called self-awareness, and that’s a strength.
At all times, the most important thing is to understand your surrounding environment. What that environment actually requires of you is what matters.
Whether a flaw or a virtue depends on who you're talking about.所谓对错 are always contextual.
For someone with no money, do smoking and drinking cost money? If they do, that's a mistake. Does gaming take time away from making money? If it does, that's also a mistake. So he's simply wrong—no need to overcomplicate it.
First, examine how the person acquired their wealth. If they earned it through hard work and ambition, they can continue on that path. But if they got their money by luck, think about it: eating, drinking, and having fun doesn't cost much. For a man like that, never let him become ambitious or driven—otherwise, he'll bankrupt the entire family fortune.
