Many people don’t know how to talk.

So many people aren’t “loyal advice that stings the ear.” You just can’t be bothered to manage your own emotions.

You’re a hot-head. You say whatever pops into your head, can’t control your mouth, get your thrill and then forget about it. You never think about the aftermath. You can’t speak well, yet you take pride in calling yourself “loyal advice that stings the ear.”

At all times, your goal when speaking is to make others actually hear you, not to make them tune out. Before you say anything, think clearly about whether the other person can absorb it. If they can’t, don’t say it. If you do, own the consequences. Got bench-sat by your boss? Ostracized by colleagues? Misunderstood by your kids? Then suffer through it.

It’s your choice.

Or wait for the right setting and timing.

Speaking well is just common sense.

Doctors often tell patients: eat properly, sleep properly. What they mean is, if you don’t do these things, no medicine will help. If you stay up late playing on your phone and then go to the doctor when you’re sick, they’ll say the same thing: you brought this on yourself.

You rush in without understanding the situation, then berate your kids from head to toe. You get your satisfaction, and every word you say afterward will go in one ear and out the other. If you don’t respect them, why should they respect you?
