You have to grab every dollar yourself; no one is going to feed it to you.

If you want to be a leader, it’s not about waiting for someone to promote you and then teach you the ropes on technology and sales. It’s about being genuinely qualified first—knowing your way around tech and sales—so that people actually want to promote you and put you in a leadership role.

That’s the only path unless you’re the boss’s biological child.

Aside from folks like Einstein, most jobs in this world aren’t inherently difficult. Skill comes with practice. You have to proactively seek out opportunities to drill those skills.

Employees wait to be coddled; bosses coddle themselves, using the promise of future reward to keep themselves motivated.

Only by proactively accommodating others can you earn opportunities from them.
