Gifts vs. Bribes: Knowing the Difference
CategoryReading Notes
First, bribery refers to the act of using benefits or other advantages to get close to key individuals, employing unfair means to eliminate competitors, and thereby securing personal gain. But giving small gifts as a gesture of gratitude is different. The latter is an expression of thanks for someone's help over a past period—whether in material support or personal growth. It can be a heartfelt verbal acknowledgment, or a modest holiday gift that remains within your means. In this way, after being helped, the other person will at least feel a sense of warmth and recognition, making them more likely to offer their assistance again in the future. #ReadingNotes#
