My public account now has 231 followers.

A few days ago, I published an article on how to insert mini-programs into WeChat public account posts: How to Insert Mini Programs in Articles? | Follow My Weibo. You may have noticed that my Weibo account is now certified (switched from finance to relationships).

So here I’m sharing a method that helped someone get certified within seven days (results may vary). This approach was recommended by a friend who successfully passed certification in just one week.

I registered on January 28, 2019, and was certified on February 5.

Weibo offers two types of certification: personal and enterprise. This guide focuses on personal certification.

Personal certification includes media creator certification, interest-based certification, and identity certification. Identity certification is straightforward—you just need the required documents. Interest-based certification covers well-known bloggers and domain experts, while media creator certification is based on articles published through Weibo’s Toutiao feature.

Interest-based certification requires consistently posting in a niche and reaching a certain volume of readership (the exact thresholds aren’t public, making it hard to pin down). Therefore, the recommended approach is to pursue media creator certification alongside regular blog posts.

You can apply once your readership and post count in your chosen niche meet the required thresholds.

Weibo’s media creator certification has relatively low requirements: at least 20 Toutiao articles, with at least one reaching 1,000 views (based on tests conducted by users).

You can apply for both certifications simultaneously—there’s no conflict. Just make sure all your posts stay focused on your chosen niche.

1. There’s no limit to how many media creator posts you can publish per day, but to avoid any appearance of gaming the system, aim for steady, consistent updates—around five or six per day. All content must be original and include niche-related topics and keywords.

2. Regular Weibo posts should also be original, ideally around six per day, and include niche-specific topics and keywords.

Following this strategy, you’ll typically meet the quantity requirements within a week, making certification nearly guaranteed.
