FeedbackPanda Hit $55K MRR in 2 Years

CategoryOpportunities

The team consists of two people, one of whom is a developer. The project was acquired by Sureswift Capital. (No public sale price was disclosed; others estimate it was around 8x annual revenue, or roughly $5 million. The founders haven't made it official, but it's likely significantly lower than that figure.)

Business:

China has countless platforms for English tutoring, such as Vickid. Teachers on these platforms are paid hourly, but after each class they're expected to provide feedback on the student's progress, grade assignments, and more—all unpaid work. This extra administrative burden typically eats up another 2–3 hours per student.

Rather than doing it manually, these teachers took to Google Sheets and similar tools to build templates they could reuse for this free labor.

FeedbackPanda essentially productized that workflow into ready-made templates, helping side-hustling teachers save about 90% of the time they'd previously spent on busywork.

Marketing: Most growth came organically through Facebook groups and comment sections, plus word of mouth. The founders turned happy users into case studies to attract more teachers, and wove in a referral program that now drives 40% of traffic—a self-reinforcing loop.

Two takeaways from the founders:

1. They started at $5/month and quickly learned that low pricing attracted the wrong kind of users—picky, high-maintenance customers who drained their bandwidth instead of letting them focus on building the product. They hiked the price up to $15/month and immediately saw a big improvement in user quality.

2. Because one founder is a developer, they automated every repeatable process they could. That slashed costs and meant just the two of them could handle everything, including support—no need to hire a salesperson. (Before automation, the founder was burning hours every week putting out firewood on customer complaints, which slowed development to a crawl.)

3. Between the developer and the ex-ESL teacher, they deeply understand the problem space. That background gave them strong product-market fit right from the start.

The whole thesis came down to betting on Chinese parents' willingness to spend on one-on-one English tutoring for their kids—and estimating a total addressable audience of around 200,000 teachers.
