Making $4000 Monthly from Boring Questions
Honestly, I can’t think of any case other than this one—probably because I’m a normal person too.
How does the author make money?
He targets boring questions that regular people would never search for and does SEO on them, like “Why is water wet?” or “Why is grass green?” It’s a lot like the viral trend a couple of years ago in China about “Why do humans need to eat?”—that one trended across every major platform. He mainly earns through ads and affiliate product promotions.
His main tools are Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, and Google Analytics. After those bored souls (seriously, people who actually search for these questions must be incredibly bored…) land on his blog, he analyzes the data, finds related products, and then writes affiliate posts around the traffic-driving keywords and product keywords.
Here’s how he summarizes his SEO approach:
Find a dull topic from forums or Google, list out all the derivative questions it could generate, and write one or two articles a day, each around 1,500 words, with subheadings, at least one image, and preferably a related YouTube video (with the keyword in the filename). Then repeat this process 20–30 times around the same theme to optimize.
The title, meta description, article body, internal links, and related articles all need to include keywords, with subheadings properly structured by heading levels.
At first, the author’s main direction was content about helping people stay away from screens and sleep better—great for affiliate sales.
