PodReacher Reports $420,000 in Annual Revenue
PodReacher is a service that converts podcasts, videos, meetings, and other content into highly readable text.
The foundation of this service rests on one key insight: high-quality content conversion is extremely time-consuming. Turning a 45-minute recording into a 1,500-word article can take around six hours, which means there will always be people in the video and podcast space willing to pay for this service.
I started this business in 2018 and reached a livable income (equivalent to a full-time salary) within 18 months. Now I have 250 clients and earn 30,000–40,000 RMB per month (I’ve hired several freelance writers to help, so I’m now the boss).
I turned the service into a productized subscription bundle, similar to quarterly packages paid on a quarterly basis.
(I initially tried offering heavily discounted first-time deals, but hardly anyone took them up. Later I shifted to a straight sales model with fewer discounts.)
